Darke REC’s Cooperative Night lights up National Trail High School

A group of people posing during a youth basketball gameNational Trail, the only school district served by Darke Rural Electric Cooperative, recently hosted its biannual Cooperative Night during a varsity boys’ basketball game against Tri-Village High School. The highlight of the evening was the “Halftime Shoot for Cash” contest, in which Treyvn Blevins took center stage.

Treyvn’s efforts earned him $50 for a layup and $100 for a free throw. Despite his determination, the three-point and half-court shots — worth $150 and $300, respectively — proved to be just out of reach. The event brought the community together, showcasing the enthusiasm and support that Cooperative Night fosters.

Cooperative Night reflects Darke REC’s dedication to serving its members and strengthening community connections, aligning with the cooperative’s commitment to Concern for Community, one of its guiding principles. These events create opportunities for engagement and reinforce the cooperative’s mission to make a positive impact.

Cooperative Night is more than just a basketball game; it’s an opportunity to bring people together and celebrate the values that make our community strong. Darke REC remains committed to lighting up lives and fostering connections that go beyond the game.
