Over the last 20 years, Darke REC has made significant investments in electric system upgrades and rebuilt every mile of power lines in our territory to ensure members have 24/7 access to reliable, affordable electricity. In the event of a power outage, our members are kept informed of restoration efforts through real-time outage notifications from SmartHub and can keep an eye on outages with our outage map.
Being owned and driven by the communities we serve is a commitment Darke REC takes seriously. Each year, your electric co-op invests in youth scholarships and community activities to enrich the lives of our members, and offers its Kitchel Community Room for members to reserve for their events. In addition, Darke REC gives members the opportunity to round their bills up to the nearest dollar through Operation Round-Up, which then disburses those funds to local groups and individuals in need.
We strive to keep our members informed at all times. That’s why Darke REC sends quarterly member newsletters (sign up below!), provides a variety of payment options, keeps members informed of financials by sharing the annual report, informs members of rebate programs, and posts regular updates on Facebook. Plus, our friendly staff is always ready to help.
