Budget Billing
Darke Rural Electric Cooperative offers a Budget Billing Program to help members manage their electric bills with predictable, level payments each month. This program is especially beneficial for members with all-electric homes who experience significantly higher winter heating bills.
How It Works
- Your monthly budget amount is calculated based on your past 12 months of electricity usage.
- Budget billing runs from August 1st to July 31st each year.
- At the end of the budget year, your actual usage will be compared to the total amount paid, and any difference will be settled.
Eligibility Requirements
To participate in Budget Billing, members must:
✔ Have at least 12 months of billing history with Darke Rural Electric.
✔ Be current on their electric bill.
✔ Pay the level billed amount by the 10th of each month to avoid late fees.
🔴 IMPORTANT: Failure to make the full monthly budget payment will result in immediate removal from the program.
Cancellation Policy
- Members or the cooperative may cancel the agreement with a 30-day written notice.
