Who We Are

Darke REC is a not-for-profit, member-owned electric cooperative with a proud history of meeting the energy needs of our community. Born out of the effort to bring electricity to rural areas, we have grown alongside the people we serve, staying true to the values and principles that define us.

Guided by Our 7 Cooperative Principles

At Darke REC, we follow the 7 Cooperative Principles, which shape our mission and ensure we serve the best interests of our members:

1. Voluntary and Open Membership: We welcome all who live in our service territory and are committed to serving their energy needs.

3. Members’ Economic Participation: Members contribute equitably to the cooperative, and profits are reinvested into services or returned to members.
